Bunch of Grapes:

Case Management Team

Just recently, Grape People had the pleasure of working with a relatively new management team, who are an integral part of a major global organization. Part of the team's function was to drive the organization even further forward. It was evident, after the first 30 minutes, that the team was completely disjointed and lacked harmony and common understanding. We spent the next day and a half investigating the team, profiling the team with the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) model developing action plans, mutually accepted working practices and responsibilities and roles.

We used a number of processes in this case

  • Me-We-Us to investigate individual and group dynamics in terms of functional understanding and areas of responsibilities
  • A mini-cafĂ© process, to establish project management responsibilities and ownership
  • Ideation was a constant on-going process
  • We also used the SDI tool to consider both individual and team profiling and values.

Outcome

By the end of the session, the team had become very much more integrated; there was an air of understanding, a commonality of vision and acceptance of who would do what and when. Something that the team had tried to do for the last four months was reached in the day and a half together.

The team went away on the Friday afternoon full of new ideas, motivated and together, and ready to implement actions and decisions that were made, the following Monday morning.
