Research and Writing

Grape has a policy and a passion to deliver quality by being forerunners in our profession. To this end, we are constantly researching, reading, listening, writing, developing and taking part in related training courses and conferences. We are lucky to have the Grape Institute situated in the hotbed of facilitation which is the San Francisco area of the US.

One of the many up sides to this input, is, that it allows us to be at the cutting edge of development in our field. We are happy to share with you some of the things that we have been fortunate enough to discover on our own journeys.

The Facilitator's Handbook by Pepe Nummi (2007)

The Facilitator's Handbook presents the most used world tools with practical explanations on how to use them as methods. The Facilitator's Handbook is suitable for all people who want to work efficiently and effectively with groups. The Handbook is written by Pepe Nummi from Grape People and is the first facilitation book ever to be published in Finland.

The Facilitators Handbook in Finnish can be ordered from Edita webstore.

New books on their way...

  • The Facilitator's Handbook will be printed in English and Russian in 2010.
  • Greg O'Shea is just about to publish a new book - the theme being: ' How the Chaordic Organisation can really work'.
  • We will also be publishing our own Handbook on Global Facilitation in the near future. We intend this to be totally different from the normal handbook type publications!
We hope our publications prove useful. You can ask us about our favourite books - the complete list is part of our Facilitation Training material. We are also happy for you to supply us with links and findings of your own. It's a two-way street for us!
